They entered the auction with the second-highest amount after Punjab Kings and the team also took full advantage of it. RCB retained Virat Kohli for Rs 21 crore before the auction, making him the first Indian to get more than Rs 20 crore in IPL history. There are reports that Kohli can also be made the captain of RCB from next season. The franchise retained Rajat Patidar for Rs 11 crore and uncapped Yash Dayal for Rs 4 crore. They needed the Best Finisher in the IPL and good all-rounders and bowlers. On the first day of the IPL 2025 mega auction, RCB added Liam Livingstone, Phil Salt, Jitesh Sharma, Josh Hazlewood, Rasikh Dar, and Suyash Sharma to their team.
RCB has a total of 9 players including 3 foreigners in their team. In such a situation, on the second and last day of the auction, RCB has to buy a total of 16 players including 5 foreigners for Rs 30.65 crore. On the second day, RCB will enter the auction with the biggest purse.
