The WPL 2025 season will be organized from February 14 to March 15 across four different venues, BCCI declared on Thursday. This will be the third Women’s Premier League, the richest franchise-based T20 cricket competition for women globally.
WPL 2025 begins with Royal Challengers Bengaluru taking on Gujarat Giants at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara which has come up recently and will host the first six games of WPL. It then shifts to the Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru to host the next eight matches in the tournament. The Ekana will host four WPL games, including three familiarity games of UP Warriorz, and Lucknow will see WPL action for the first time.
The format of this year’s tournament will be similar to the last season where the five teams, Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Mumbai Indians (MI), UP Warriorz (UPW), Gujarat Giants (GG), and Delhi Capitals (DC), will play against each other in single headers in the league phase.

WPL Points Table: Tracking Team Standings
Like any other cricket league, WPL is also based on a points system to determine the position of the teams from the total league matches conducted in the season. Here’s how the points table generally works:
WPL Points System:
- Win: 2 points
- No Result/Abandoned: 1 point
- Loss: 0 points
The team that has earned the most points by the end of the round-robin stage is the team that goes to the playoffs. There are cases where games have been leveled about points, in this case, factors such as net run rate are considered. To some extent, the points table enables the fans and all sporting analysts to forecast which of the teams are capable of making it to the final stages of the event.
