IPL 2024: RCB vs PBKS match result

The sixth match of IPL 2024 was played between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings (RCB vs PBKS). This match took place at RCB’s home ground i.e. Chinnaswamy ground and Virat Kohli’s team got a lot of support. Punjab was coming after winning its first match and RCB team was coming after losing its first match and that is why they were in dire need of this victory.

RCB vs PBKS match result (IPL 2025)

RCB defeated Punjab Kings by 4 wickets in this match played at Chinnaswamy. Batting first, Punjab Kings scored 176 runs at the loss of 6 wickets in 20 overs. In reply, RCB achieved this target by losing 6 wickets in 19.2 overs. Virat Kohli was chosen Player of the Match for his excellent innings.

RCB captain Faf du Plessis won the toss and decided to field first. Punjab Kings, who came to bat first, did not have a good start and opener Jonny Bairstow was out after scoring only 8 runs. After this captain Shikhar Dhawan and Prabhsimran Singh took over the innings. Dhawan played an inning of 45 runs in 37 balls and Prabhsimran Singh scored 25 runs. In the lower order, Sam Curran scored 23 runs, Jitesh Sharma scored 27 runs off 20 balls and Shashank Singh scored 21 not out off 8 balls, taking the team to a good score.

Dinesh Karthik played a brilliant innings to ensure victory for the team

While chasing the target in this RCB vs PBKS match, three big batsmen of RCB flopped. Captain Faf du Plessis, Cameron Green and Glenn Maxwell were out after scoring just 3 runs each. However, Virat Kohli remained at one end. He played an inning of 77 runs in 49 balls with the help of 11 fours and 2 sixes. Whereas in the lower order, Dinesh Karthik led the team to victory by scoring unbeaten 28 runs in 10 balls.
